Cat Man

Your tattered clothing, full of holes, the brown stain on your shirt collar, you carry a small cage ,inside a rabbit,  and you always get off on the same spot, in the midst of industrial darkness.

The Hut

She sought safety in the small hut, built by her school friend Melchic. There in the deep winter, when she was all alone against the piercing cold, with a makeshift small fire barely keeping her warm, she remembered the warm gatherings of her family, during better years, when they were all together. That seemed like such a long time ago,she thought, now in this black cold, that she was immersed in. She wondered if this should ever end, this crazy war, that came out of nowhere to haunt her and her family. She did not know how long she could remain in the hut. There was melchic, who came every other day with food and some supplies, and they both knew that it was only a matter of time that she would need to leave, especially with the coming of winter which had only begun. but where would she go? Her family had dispersed. What ever contact she had with her distant relatives in Warsaw was gone for now. Other then Melchic there was no one to turn to, and Melchic himself was vulnerable.

The Hut

She knew of a small hut, laid out for her by the local farm hand (Melchek) who she befriended in her younger years, when they played together in the local school house, when it was still possible to mingle with other races. She had asked him to set it up,just as the war started, and he obliged, being somewhat ignorant of the risks at hand. He built the hut in one afternoon. laying out the dry hay from the previous harvest, which had been stored in case of a future need. He placed the hay inside in a embedded circle,so that the edges were well bordered and as a canopy he build, thin birched wood, folded inside and covered with aged canvas, left over from his grandfathers days.

Shiver

If only she knew where to turn in the vast darkness before her. A shiver pierced her deeply almost as an added insult, as the cold air perforated her total vulnerability to the elements. She wanted so much to find shelter in that most desolate moment, only to realize that she was still home, only mete res away from her loved ones, and yet forced to make a split decision that would change her life forever. How far she had come against the great odds before her, when she knew early that her escape would be assured, her freedom promised, her future set in safety. And yet emotions kept her lingering, hoping something might change, something which she held onto with a sliver of hope and perhaps luck, which would change it all for the better, and keep her close to her loved ones.

To live a little longer!

Yes!! to live a little longer, that's all we ever wanted. There was too much uncertainty in the air to want anything different. To live a little longer, that was all. granted it was a peace full place,Perhaps a little too peace full, that it forced you to be alert, and maybe a little overly cautious, not that it disturbed anything, nor did it ruffle any stirred feathers, it was only a subtle general feeling that lingered more then it needed to, and in the end you only got used to it, to the still silence, part hope and part fear, and nothing much more in between.

Not a Large House

It was not a large house, out there in the lost horizon, between two lost mountains and a land swollen with past wounds, soon to be forgotten. We were born up in a mountain city, still stuck in its stifled rituals, praising a God that had long left that land. And still we all lingered around for more, like a wounded animal who wants yet to live just a little longer.

Her memory!

Somewhere in the distant blackness, a memory appeared like a sudden light in which he could recall a young women standing in the open field, shivering with both hands clasped against her breast. She was silent and frozen. her gaze up to the dark sky, where there were no stars that night and the moon was but a glimmer. Who was she? Where was she? Where was she going?
